2025 Australasian Skin Cancer Congress

Melanoma Patients Australia was proud to attend the 2025 Australasian Skin Cancer Congress on the Gold Coast last weekend as an official event supporter.

We were delighted to see the Congress opened by Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie MP and his mother Christine, a melanoma survivor and dedicated Melanoma Patients Australia volunteer, who shared their powerful and personal stories. Since her diagnosis, Christine has been a committed Melanoma Patients Australia volunteer, supporting patients and families over a long period of time whilst also leading and facilitating our Sunshine Coast Support Group.

On Day 2 of the Congress our CEO Shannon Anderson gave a presentation providing an overview of the free national support services provided to the community by Melanoma Patients Australia, highlighting the importance of accessible supportive care for patients and their families.

The Congress also provided Shannon, along with our Specialist Support & Programs Officer Shannon Beagan, a valuable opportunity to provide 400 skin cancer general practitioners from across Australia and New Zealand with information on how to refer melanoma patients to our specialist support services, and how to access patient information and resources for their own clinics and local communities.

Thank you to the Skin Cancer College Australasia for organising such a great event.
