Our Vision
Creating a world where no one affected by melanoma walks alone.
The organisation was founded by two young melanoma patients, Daniel Belcher and the late Brent Grace. Melanoma Patients Australia was officially launched on 6 July 2006 by the former Governor of Queensland, The Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce, now former Governor-general of Australia.
Creating a world where no one affected by melanoma walks alone.
To support, connect and advocate for Australians affected by melanoma and works towards its prevention.

Enjoy some fun in the sun this weekend but remember to be sun safe! Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek Shade and wear Slides 🕶
Download the free SunSmart app at apps.apple.com/au/app/sunsmart/id402707467 and check the UV index guide before heading out, because prevention is better than cure. ... See MoreSee Less
Great precautions. Best advice get tested... Or could save unnecessary surgery or your death!!
And learn to ignore people who think you are being paranoid for taking all these steps. Ten melanoma surgeries over six years does tend to make one a little more cautious.

It is with great sadness that Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) acknowledges the passing of Michael Bryce AM AE. Our heartfelt condolences are sent to Dame Quentin Bryce and the family at this time.
MPA has been deeply honoured to have Michael as Founding President and then Patron of the charity for 15 years.
Co-Founder and Board Director of MPA Daniel Belcher speaking on behalf of MPA said; “The measure of a great man is that through his actions he leaves the world a better place and Michael did that in so many ways in his many and various roles. Michael was instrumental in the founding of MPA in 2006 and through his support and encouragement has helped MPA to improve the lives of tens of thousands of Australians affected by this devastating cancer. On behalf of MPA and the whole melanoma community we give our deepest gratitude to Michael.”
Today, MPA reaches over 10,000 people each year and provides a wide range of services and information that help improve the quality of life and outcomes for many people impacted by melanoma. We honour Michael’s life and his significant contribution to the vision that no Australian affected by melanoma should walk alone.
