Global dermatological skin care company pledges support for Australian melanoma patients

With a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for people with skin conditions, global dermatological skin care brand Eau Thermale Avène is supporting Melanoma Patients Australia in the lead up to summer with sales from its popular Sunsitive® sunscreen. Avène has pledged its support by donating $1 from every Avène Sunsitive® Sunscreen sold at Chemist Warehouse stores between 1 October and 31 December 2025.

Board Chair of Melanoma Patients Australia, John Lee, welcomed Avène’s support, saying funds donated would contribute to our National Consumer and Community Education Program which will directly benefit melanoma patients, carers and the community.

“Educating our current patients and the wider community to be vigilant all year round with sun protection is essential if we are to see a significant reduction in Australia’s alarmingly high melanoma rates. Use of a broad-spectrum SPF50+ sunscreen during the day at all times is one important proactive step every Australian should take to protect themselves and the people they care about to reduce their risk of skin cancer”.

CEO of Melanoma Patients Australia Shannon Anderson, said “Avène’s donation will support the continued development of melanoma patients and community education resources, increasing skin health literacy and improving health outcomes for melanoma patients and the wider community across Australia.”

Melanoma Patients Australia provides virtual specialist melanoma nursing support, peer-to-peer support and community education resources to more than 5,000 Australians each year. Since 2006, Melanoma Patients Australia has been the only dedicated community-based not-for-profit organisation providing practical and compassionate support FREE of charge for anyone affected by melanoma for the duration of their treatment and survivorship journey. This includes patients, survivors, family and carers.
