We were proud to have members of our Melanoma Patients Australia Telehealth Nursing team, along with our Board Directors, Karen van Gorp, Nicole Cikarela and Annie Miller, attend the COSA–IPOS 2025 Joint Conference in Adelaide from 11–14 November. This major international event brought together experts from the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) and the International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) to explore this year’s theme: Optimising Care, Optimising Outcomes: Partnering to Improve Outcomes for All.
Across Days 3 and 4, our nurses and directors engaged deeply with sessions focused on survivorship, rural and regional care, treatment innovations, and psychosocial support. The strong emphasis on translating evidence into meaningful, real-world improvements reinforced our commitment to delivering holistic, patient-centred melanoma care.
During their time in Adelaide, our Telehealth Nurses also visited the Cancer Council SA’s Greenhill Lodge, where they witnessed the compassionate accommodation provided to regional and rural patients travelling for treatment. This supportive environment makes a profound difference for patients and families navigating cancer care far from home.
Attending COSA–IPOS enabled our nursing team and Board Directors to build new connections, strengthen existing collaborations, and gather valuable insights that will directly support our ongoing work with the melanoma community. We look forward to applying this knowledge to ensure Australians impacted by melanoma continue to receive the understanding, care, and practical support they deserve.
