Colac Quilters Club

A group of women gather to display a quilt for the Colac Quilters Club.

The generous Colac Quilters Club has donated $5500 to Melanoma Patients Australia from their recent well-supported fundraising event.

Each year the ladies from the Colac Quilters Club raise money to donate to cancer research however this year Dr Emily Shaw encouraged them to make MPA the recipient, knowing that MPA receives no government funding and help thousands of melanoma patients each year.

Dr Emily Shaw is from the Western Skin Institute Skin Cancer Clinic and is doing valuable work encouraging skin checks and working with early stage melanoma patients providing follow up.

We would like to thank Jane Elliott, a member from MPA, who has Stage 4 Malignant Melanoma, who received the donation on behalf of MPA and shared her journey with the ladies, explained what MPA does, what our organisation means to her and how we have helped over the last couple of years.

Dr Emily Shaw also gave a talk about Skin Cancer and Skin Cancer checks, supported by Dr Sharon Suguilon, both are doctors from Western Skin Institute.

Our deepest thanks to this amazing group of ladies.
