Melanoma Patients Australia’s Specialist Melanoma Telehealth Nurses, Emma and Peta, recently represented MPA at the Rural Medicine Australia 2025 (RMA25) Conference in Boorloo (Perth) — an annual gathering of rural doctors, medical students, and healthcare professionals from across the country.
Hosted by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA), RMA25 provided an invaluable opportunity to showcase Melanoma Patient Australia’s specialist support services and raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by people affected by melanoma in rural and remote communities.
While in Perth, Emma and Peta also connected with Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) melanoma nurses from Fiona Stanley Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Hollywood Private Hospital, along with representatives from Solaris Cancer Care, Cancer Council Western Australia, and WAKMAS.
These connections help strengthen collaboration and build our vital networks of care — ensuring that Australians affected by melanoma, regardless of where they live, can access the support and care they need.
