Our Deputy Chair and Co-Chair of the Consumer Advisory Group, Karen van Gorp, and Consumer Advisory Group member David Thiele, both melanoma survivors, attended the Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Patient & Parliament Summit at Parliament House, Canberra.
Karen and David joined other passionate patient advocates, industry peers, policymakers, Members of Parliament and Senators to discuss how we can strengthen Australia’s healthcare system to ensure timely access to the right treatments for all patients.
They were both particularly inspired by Dr Alison Roberts, Productivity Commissioner, who highlighted the vital role that preventive health, equitable access to therapies, and the quality of healthcare services play in improving Australia’s overall productivity and wellbeing.
Thank you to Bristol Myers Squibb for bringing together such an engaged and insightful community of health advocates.
