Parliamentary Friends of Melanoma and Skin Cancer

Melanoma Patients Australia Chair, John Lee, CEO, Shannon Anderson and members of our Canberra Patient and Carers Support Group joined together recently to attend the Parliamentary Friends of Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness event, hosted by the Melanoma & Skin Cancer Advocacy Network (MSCAN).

This event was attended by The. Hon Mark Butler MP and the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Parliamentary Friends co-chairs, The Hon. Jason Clare MP and The Hon. Darren Chester MP. The event importantly provided a valuable opportunity for our patients to directly participate in our national advocacy efforts by attending and directly sharing their own lived experiences with other supportive parliamentarians, researchers, clinicians and other industry representatives.

Thank you to MSCAN for hosting a great event and to all other patients, carers and friends who attended or courageously spoke at this event. Thank you also to members of the Australasian Melanoma and Skin Cancer Alliance (AMSCA) and to other organisations and individuals that came together on the day united in the mission to reduce the impact of melanoma and skin cancer across Australia.
