The tumour was successfully removed and it was only then it was confirmed it was a secondary melanoma – primary unknown!
In 2017, as I was reading in bed, I discovered a suspicious lump under my right arm.
In July 2019, I was diagnosed with Stage IV BRAF+ Metastatic Melanoma after being admitted into hospital with severe anaemia.
In August 2019 I visited my doctor for persistent back pain. A CT scan identified a lesion in one of my ribs and suspicious spots in both lungs.
I believe that carers do go through the stages of grief - denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
In November 2016 I found a very small non descript lump under my arm and after a biopsy I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma. The Primary site was never found.
