Melanoma Patients Australia provides support across Australia to melanoma patients, their families, friends and carers.

“This experience has put new meaning into my life. I have always known that you should live your life to the full every moment of every day – but there is a difference between ‘knowing’ something like that and ‘understanding’ what it really means.”

MPA offers a range of support services for you to access – the choice is yours as it is important that you do what you are most comfortable with.

Support Groups

Support groups offer a safe and understanding environment for melanoma patients, their families and friends to talk about their concerns and support each other along the way. They provide first hand insights, information and comfort to patients, family and friends.

Online groups and telephone groups provide similar support to the face to face support groups, but are more beneficial to those without access to the face-to-face groups. MPA groups meet on a regular basis and are unstructured, relaxed get-togethers open to melanoma patients and their carers, family members and friends. You can share as much or as little information as you want to with others who simply understand.

If you are interested in attending a Support Group or becoming a Facilitator or Co-Facilitator in your local area, please contact us for further information on 1300 88 44 50.

This year's Palliative Care week theme is 'You matter, Your care matters. Palliative care can make a difference’.
So many of us confuse palliative care with end of life care, assuming that death is imminent if we are referred to palliative care. Palliative care embodies wholeness, peacefulness and enhanced quality of life-- pain and symptom management so that you can get on with living as well as you can until you can't. Whether this is for a day, a week or a year is irrelevant compared with the relief found when you can let go of fear and despair even for just 1 hour. Please call MPA 1300 88 44 50 in office hours for more information. #npcw
